Honesdale for the Holidays

“Sleigh bells ring, Are you listening?....”

The Greater Honesdale Partnership invites you to come to “Honesdale for the Holidays” on Friday, November 23 and Saturday November 24, sponsored by the Honesdale National Bank.

Thanksgiving Weekend will start off on Friday with many shopping and dining opportunities at the shops and restaurants in Honesdale. They offer a large variety of great products ranging from gifts, clothing, and unique items for the young and old. Our businesses are famous for their warm hospitality and knowledgeable staffs. Some stores will be hosting “Open Houses” and the restaurants will be putting out their best seasonal specials.

The Fred Miller Pavilion on Honesdale’s Historic Main St. will be alive with holiday music on both days to add to the spirit of the experience. Bold Gold Media will be there to play your favorites!

Friday, November 23 will be the highlight of the weekend with our Annual Santa Parade. The parade starts at 6:00pm at the Top Notch parking lot on 4th St., goes up Main St., turns right on 10th St., and proceeds to Honesdale’s Central Park.

The ceremony immediately after the parade will delight young and old. It has been the perfect way to get into the spirit of the season for many years. We will be lighting the tree in the center of the park as well as our beloved star on Irving Cliff, and singing carols with candlelight. Our friends at 95.3 DNH & Classic Hits 105.3 will be leading the festivities and will be helping us all greet Santa!

It will certainly be a night to remember!

On Saturday, November 24, the opportunities to support our local small businesses will continue. It is Small Business Saturday in Honesdale and our locally owned and operated small businesses will be eager and willing to make your day special. Please go to the GHP’s website (www.visithonesdalepa.com) out for information about our members before you make your list and check it twice!

The Greater Honesdale Partnership will also be offering a FREE holiday shopper’s trolley from 10 am to 4pm on Saturday and on Sunday from 11am to 4am.  This trolley will not only offer shoppers and visitors the chance to leave their cars parked in one location throughout the day, but will offer a historic tour of the downtown area for their enjoyment. Our holiday shopper’s trolley is proudly sponsored by Beck, Gogolski, Poska, & Co., Dirlam Bros. Lumber, and Grimm Construction.

On Saturday and also Sunday, the Stourbridge Line rail excursions will be offering Santa Express rides at 10:00am, 1:00pm, and 3:00pm.
