Help Plant and Maintain Trees in the Historic Honesdale PA Business District

The Greater Honesdale Partnership’s Shade Tree Committee, after succesfully assisting almost twenty local business owners in planting new trees in front of their businesses, is continuing its “Help plant and maintain trees” campaign.

Honesdale has a long heritage of tree-lined streets. In 1847, citizens funded the planting of over 200 trees. For years, Honesdale was known as “The Maple City”, but many of our famous maples have died and have not been replaced. Now, nearly 170 years later, please join us in our campaign to replant trees in our business district. Help us recapture the charm and the ecological benefits that trees provide.

Be part of our efforts to breathe new life into the charming center of our wonderful town. Help us improve and celebrate our beautiful town, still vibrant since our founding in 1826.

Donations will be used to help plant and maintain trees in or business district. And we hope to be able to expand our tree-planting efforts to other parts of the borough as well.

The Wayne County Community Foundation has graciously agreed to help us collect donations, making your contribution 100% tax deductible.

Please make your check payable to: Wayne County Community Foundation/Trees and mail to 214 Ninth Street, Honesdale, PA 18431.

Your gift of trees is one you’ll be able to enjoy for years to come.

Thank you!
